Abstract
Objective: To observe the efficacy of MEBO in treating wounds post incision of carbuncle. Method: 98 cases of this disease were divided into 2 groups. Patients in the 1st group were treated with MEBO gauze and those in the 2nd group treated with vaseline gauze. The efficacy of the 2 drugs was compared. Result: The average wound healing time in the 1st group was shorter than those in the 2nd group. The scar formation rate in the 1st group was lower than that in the 2nd group. Conclusion: MEBO gauze is superior to vaseline gauze. The treating course is shortened and incidence of complications is lowered. MEBO is of 1st choice for treating wounds post incision of carbuncle.
