Clinical Trial of Bushen Yanggan Xifeng Decoction on Parkinson Disease with Liver and Kidney Yin Deficiency

Objective:To observe the curative effect of Bushen Yanggan Xifeng Decoction on Parkinson disease with liver and kidney Yin Deficiency.Methods:Sixty PD patients were randomly assigned to the treatment group and the control group.Both were treated according to the international medication guideline for PD treatment,and the treatment group was administered with Bushen Yanggan Xifeng Decoction additionally.The treatment course lasted for 6 consecutive months,and the ending point was the end of the 6th month.The traditional Chinese medicine symptoms scale(TCM)scores,Unified Parkinson′s Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS)scores and Activities of Daily Living(ADL)scores were evaluated before treatment and 3 months of the treatment and at the ending point.Results:After treatment,the treatment group appears a total UPDRS score decrease,and the control group appears a tendency to increase,the inner group UPDRS scores shows no significant difference(P0.05).After treatment,the ADL score of two groups shows tendency of decrease,and the difference is statistically significant(P0.05),ADL score increase in the inner group before and after treatment was statistically significant(P0.05).At the end of treatment,the average administrating of Sertraline and Dopamine of the treatment group was lower than that in the control group,the difference had statistical significance(P0.01).Conclusion:The recipe for Bushen Yanggan Xifeng Decoction could effectively improve the motor symptoms of PD,which could improve PD patients′ activities of daily life.
