Abstract

Objective: To determine the levels of SOD,MDA and VE in decidua and maternal serum of patients with premature rupture of membranes to clarify relationship between oxidative stress and premature rupture of membranes. Methods: The levels of SOD,MDA and VE in decidua and maternal serum were measured in 30 patients with premature rupture of membranes and 30 term-pregnant women by chemocolorimetry. Results: The levels of MDA in decidua and maternal serum of patients with premature rupture of membranes were significantly higher than those of term-pregnant women(P0.05),while the levels of SOD and VE were significantly decreased(P0.05,P0.05).Conclusion: Oxidative stress is associated with premature rupture of membranes.
