The Main Characteristics,Development Tendency and Policy Orientation of Energy Consumption Growth in China

Since the opening and reform of China,the total China's energy consumption has kept increasing.With the increase of the gap between energy demand and supply,50% of crude oil needs importing.The energy efficiency in China declines considerably but is still much lower than in developed countries.Rapid economic growth speed,unreasonable economic structure,too-strict price control and lack of social supervision are the causes for too fast increase of energy consumption in China.During the 12th Five-year Plan,the energy demand and supply situation is still severe in China with further higher dependence on import.Therefore,it is necessary to speed up adjustment of economic structure and energy structure,to deepen reforms to promote energy conservation.
