Abstract
Objective To investigate expression of VEGF-C and CD44v6 in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC)and their relation with lymph node metastasis. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression of VEGF-C and CD44v6 protein in 152 cases of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. Results The expression rates of VEGF-C and CD44v6 protein were 55.3% and 71.7% respectirely. And there was significant difference between lymph node metastasis group and no lymph node metastasis group(P0.05).Conclusions The expressions of VEGF-C and CD44v6 proteins in ESCC is closely related with the lymph node metastasis of ESCC.They could be used as an index to evaluate the prognosis.
