Abstract
Objective To discuss the influence and curative effect observation of Sodium Hyaluronate on Matrix Metalloproteinase-3 and-9(MMP-3 and-9) levels in joint fluid of patients with knee osteoarthritis(OA). Methods Sixtyeight cases of patients with knee OA were divided into sodium hyaluronate group and control group at random. The patients in control group were given ibumetin retavd through the mouth 0.3 g for one time, and twice a day after meals for 4 weeks, while the patients in sodium hyaluronate group were given sodium hyaluronate injected into knee joint at a dose of 20 mg once a week for four weeks. Results After 4 weeks' medical treatment, the MMP-3 and-9 levels in joint fluid of patients in two groups were declined obviously than before(P0.05 or P0.01), and declining rate of patients in sodium hyaluronate group was much higher than that in control group(P0.05),and the total clinical efficiency in sodium hyaluronate group was much higher than that in control group(χ2=6.48,P0.01). The occurrence rate of untoward effect was much lower than that in control group(χ2=5.76,P0.05), with light symptom. Conclusion Sodium hyaluronate has reliable curative effect on knee OA with high security by being injected into knee joint, whose mechanism of action has close effect on reducing MMP-3 and-9 levels in joint fluid.
