Abstract

Objective:To analyze the utilization of narcotic analgesics in the 180th Hospital of PLA from 2009to 2012,in order to provide reference for rational use of drugs. Methods:Drug consumption, consumption sum and defined daily dose(DDD)of narcotic analgesics from 2009to 2012were collected from the hospital information system.DDDs,order ratio of consumption sum to DDDs and defined daily cost(DDC)were retrospectively analyzed. Results:The consumption sum of narcotic analgesics increased year by year. The dosage forms of 7commonly used narcotic analgesics were tablets, injections and patches. The consumption of pethidine injection was the largest. The order of morphine and related drugs consumption also decreased year by year.DDC of controlled release tablets oxycodone was the highest, with its order of consumption increased year by year. Conclusion:The utilization of narcotic analgesics in this hospital was on the whole rational, however, supervision should be tightened on the selection of drugs.
