Abstract
The development of every tourist destination is unbreakably connected with enrichment of the tourist offering of the destination. Selective forms of tourism provide a favourable medium for continuous enrichment of the tourist offer. Modern trends of tourist demand in the international market are considerably shifting away from the traditional tourist model based on: sea, sun and sand. In order for a tourist destination not to risk dropping out of current tourist flows, it is necessary to work continuously on the diversification of its tourist offer. Such forms of tourist offer diversification should draw on modern tourist trends in the world, but they must also take into consideration the component of satisfaction of tourists with the services and experiences provided. Thereby the paper researches tourist populations in the Istrian tourist destination for the purpose of empirical measurement of the connection between the satisfaction of tourists with the selective forms of tourism and chosen indicators. The authors research the existence of the connection between particular features (information source, country of arrival, expenditure and hospitality) and the satisfaction of tourists with certain selective forms of tourist choice (special events, entertainment, excursions, animation and sports choice). The main objective of this paper is that its results provide the bearers of tourist choices in Istria with a relevant basis for evaluation of possible adjustments to particular segments of selective tourist offers directed to those market segments which showed a stronger mutual connection with the satisfaction of tourists.
