Effects of ginkgo leaf dripping pills combing with zocor on carotid artery plaque.

Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the clinical effects of ginkgo leaf dripping pills combing with zocor on carotid artery plaque.Methods:Eighty patients with carotid artery soft plaques were randomly divided into treatment group and control group,which were treated with oral administration of ginkgo dripping pills(5 pills per time,3 times per day)combining with zocor(20 mg,taken as a draught before sleep);while the control group was given zocor alone(20 mg,taken as a draught before sleep).After 3 months of treatment,bilateral carotid artery ultrasound,blood lipids,liver and kidney function tests were performed and compared between the two groups.Results:The total effective rate of the treatment group was 92.5%,significant higher than 77.5% of the control group(P0.01).Conclusions:Ginkgo dripping pill combing with zocor shows better effects on soft carotid plaque than zocor alone.
