Abstract
A series of 24 new O, O-bis (aryl) isobutyl phosphonates has been assayed in vitro against the root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita. Four compounds viz diphenyl iiobutyl phosphonate and its 3-methyl, 2-nitro and 3,4-dimethyl derivatives were active. In glass house test employing P-16 variety of soybean Glycine max.. the active compounds reduced the number of root galls in most of the cases and in some cases adversely affected the plant growth parameters, with little phytotoxicity.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
