Breeding on new thermo-sensitive hybrid rice combination Boyou 938 and its cultivation technique to obtaining high yield.

Boyou 938 is a new thermo-sensitive high-yielding late indica hybrid rice combination with good grain quality,derived from crossing between a restorer lines Qin 938 and Bo A.Boyou 938 showed high and stable yield,wide adaptability,tolerance to cold and late senescence both in late rice regional trial of Guangxi in 1998-1999 and hybrid rice regional trial of South China in 2000-2001.The average yield of Boyou 938 was 6.75-7.50kg / ha and the grain quality reached the second grade of National Standard of High Grain Quality Rice(GB / T 17891-1999).Boyou 938 was certified and registered by Guangxi Committee for Crop Variety Registration in December,2000 and by National Committee for Crop Variety Registration in February,2003.Boyou 938 is the main hybrid late rice combination in Guangxi at present and it can be planted as late rice in South Guangxi,southern Central Guangxi,Guangdong,Hainan and South Fujian,etc.
