Abstract

Pipeline construction activity in 1984 in the U.S. is discussed. Focus will be on shorter main lines, loop lines, and laterals, along with continuing expansion of oil and gas gathering systems. As of January 1, 1984, planned and proposed pipeline projects in the U.S. totalled 30,072 miles. For 1984, an anticipated 8385 miles of new trunk pipelines and gathering lines will be constructed, including 4280 miles of oil and gas gathering lines and 4105 miles of gas transmission, crude oil, products, and CO/sub 2/ pipelines. Total of all planned and proposed projects in the U.S. and Canada is 41,055 miles.
