A performance sailing yacht for corporate charter.

Abstract
This report documents the initial design of a performance sailing yacht for corporate charter. Within the period of the investigation the implications of various aspects of design were looked at, these include safety requirements, ergonomics, aesthetics, sail choice, in particular the practicalities of having inexperienced sailors on board and what can be done to enhance there participation in sailing the boat. There is also a study looking in to the draught restriction imposed on the design by the requirement to use a wide range of anchorages within the operational area of the West Coast of Scotland. The final design includes a lifting keel with a close look at the lifting and locking mechanisms.
