Clinical observation of chronic gouty arthritis treated with traditional Chinese medicine.

Abstract
Objective To observe the clinical effect of traditional Chinese medicine on chronic gouty arthritis.Methods 147 cases of chronic gouty arthritis diagnosed were randomized into control group(49 cases)and treatment group(98 cases).In control group,allopurinol and meloxicam were administered.In treatment group,different herbal formulas were prescribed according to syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine.Results The total effective rate was 92.67% in treatment group and was 85.71% in control group,indicating significant difference in comparison(P0.05).The change of blood uric acid level in treatment group was superior to that of control group after treatment(P0.05).Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine has significant efficacy on chronic gouty arthritis and deserves to be promoted in clinical application.
