The superior late japonica rice varietyBaonong 34was bred by the Superior Variety Breeding Farm of Baoshan District through crossing the superior late japonica rice varietyHanfengwith the aromatic glutinous rice varietyKouxianghong,having such advantages as high-quality,high-yield, good disease resistance,and wide adaptation.The variety is moderate in tillering ability,95～100 cm in plant height,and 155 d in whole growth period.Of medium-late maturing japonica rice,it is very good in taste and suitable for being planted in the middle and lower reaches of the Changjiang River or similar environmental areas.
