Abstract
Objective To investigate the expression of endothelin-1(ET-1) in ovarian tumors. Methods Expression of ET-1 in ovarian tumors(malignant n=56 benign tumor n=19,normal tissue n=17) was evaluated by immunohistochemical staining. Results Expression of ET-1 in ovarian tumors was significantly higher than that in normal tissues(P0.05),Expression of ET-1 in ovarian cancers was significantly higher than that in benign tumors(P0.05).However,ET-1 expression was not correlated with different histological classifications(P0.05),differentiation grade(P0.05) and International Federation of Gynecololgy and Obstetrics(FIGO) stage(P0.05),Conclusion The results indicate that ET-1 plays some role in occurrence of the ovarian tumors.
