Abstract
The three-phase power supply system with continuous variation of frequency and voltage necessary to accomplish a steady speed control of the motor generated by a constant current link inverter is discussed. After an explanation of the inverter system as well as the possibilities to adapt it to various power supply systems of electric and diesel-electric traction vehicles, three different locomotive types to be used for industry purposes and mass transit line services are presented.
