Abstract

The aims of this project are as follows: 1) to define strategic directions and action plans for Canadian IVHS (Intelligent Vehicle and Highway System) initiatives, 2) to assess the potential impacts of IVHS on the industrial sector and on road agencies, and 3) to identify roles and opportunities for industry, government and academia. The project will address the four main areas of IVHS. Initial participants will include the Roads and Transportation Association of Canada, the Canadian Urban Transit Association of Canada, and the National Research Council, as well as the transportation ministries of the federal government and the provinces of Ontario and Quebec.
