Abstract

Federal funds from the SAFETEA-LU legislation, along with billions of dollars from voter-approved state and location transportation funds, are fueling transportation projects in the U.S. Some firms are also counting on private partnership deals, since SAFETEA-LU will run only through 2009, and a number of states are pursuing public private partnerships as well. This article gives an overview of the top design firms in transportation based on design revenues. Included are tables listing: the top 50 in transportation, the top 25 in bridges, the top 10 in marine and port facilities, the top 20 in mass transit and rail, the top 25 in airports, and the top 25 highways.
