Abstract

Faced with diminishing funds from state and federal agencies, transportation project owners are looking to design build, public private partnerships, and other nontraditional methods to fund highway, rail, airport and maritime projects. This article gives an overview of several projects in progress and how various states are handling the funding squeeze. The article also includes tables covering: Top 50 in Transportation; Top 15 in Marine and Port Facilities; Top 25 in Bridges; Top 25 in Highways; Top 25 in Mass Transit and Rail;, and Top 25 in Airports.
