Abstract
Urban mass transportation is beginning to emerge into the area of municipal planning. The article discusses the unmistakable trend that is developing toward meaningful recognition of transit's essentiality, especially in urban centers. The increasing traffic congestion forecasts that this trend must continue and provide benefits to more than the transit industry.
