Abstract
To make the most of ITS, traffic and transportation planners need to take an integrated approach to allow the technology to complement planning strategies. This article makes recommendations on how to achieve most improvements in transportation systems by using telematics technologies in support of traffic management goals. Some of the practical applications of telematics include: giving priority to management and control systems for both private traffic and public transit; prioritizing information systems to apply to public transit and information relating to parking and trip planning, etc.; providing value added services by private operators using information base set by the integrated system.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
