Abstract

ITS applications to ease the load of overburdened transportation networks are quick to emerge. These technologies are most often used to facilitate information relating to public transit. Some of the specific technologies include: information systems based on real time; systems for control, regulation and surveillance of traffic based on vehicle location; fare payment systems for public transit; and traffic handling systems.
