Abstract
This paper carried out the bending beam test on the materials in stress absorbing layers of Sampave asphalt, analyzed the influences of asphalt binder on anti-cracking performance, carried out the tensile and tension-compression fatigue tests on the materials in stress absorbing layers with the different asphalts, and then evaluated the influences of asphalt binder on anti-tensile and fatigue performances. The results show that Sampave asphalt mixture has a better performance for preventing cracks under low temperature and also for resisting tension-compression fatigue. But the performance of SBR asphalt is lower than the one of asphalt binder in stress absorbing layers.5 tabs,2 figs,11 refs.
