Abstract
This paper carries out the bending beam and creep deformation tests under low temperature for the different aggregate grading materials in stress absorbing layers with inventive Sampave asphalt and the other two modified asphalts and then analyzes the influences of asphalt binder and aggregate grading on low temperature anti-cracking performances. The results suggest that Sampave asphalt mixture has better performance for preventing cracks under low temperature. But the performances of SBR asphalt is lower than the one of asphalt binder in stress absorbing layers; The passing rates of 4.75 mm and 0.075 mm are more sensitive to low temperature anti-cracking performances.
