1 H.R.J. Res.208, 92nd Cong., 2d Sess.(1972).The House of Representatives approved the Amendment 354 to 23 on October 12, 1971.The Senate approved it on March 22, 1972, by a vote of 84 to 8.2 As of July 10, 1972, twenty states have ratified the Equal Rights Amendment: Alaska, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia, Wisconsin.Eighteen more states
