Abstract
This feature highlights new bridge projects and bridge designs that set records and higher standards for the industry in 2000. The following bridges are profiled: Tacoma Narrows Bridge between Kitsap and Olympic Peninsulas, Washington; Galena Creek Bridge in Pleasant Valley, Nevada; Evans Crary Bridge over the St. Lucie River in Stuart, Florida; Fuller Warren Bridge in Jacksonville, Florida; Woodrow Wilson Bridge over the Potomac River connecting Virginia and Maryland; San Mateo-Hayward Bridge and East Approach Widening Project in San Mateo and Alameda Counties, California; and Carquinez Bridges between Contra Costa and Colano Counties, California. Each profile includes the project cost, scheduled completion date, type and length of bridge, and a brief overview.
