Abstract
The European project SAFESPOT aims to develop a platform for V2V (vehicle to vehicle) and V2I (vehicle to infrastructure) communication to be able to deploy safety oriented applications. In this paper the implementation of these systems as well as a communication module in a microscopic traffic simulation environment is discussed, as well as the results of several simulated scenarios. The results were promising: safety was improved significantly with V2V and I2V systems, even with low penetration rates. This indicates the need to identify the challenges which prevent a quick deployment of cooperative driver systems.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
A contribution statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
Method details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Findings are not separately available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Limitations are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
Application details are not available in the OpenAlex metadata.
