Abstract
Tetrakis[(chloromethyl)dimethylsilylethynyl]silane and -germane were synthesized by the reaction of BrMgC CSi(CH 2 Cl)Me 2 with SiCl 4 /GeCl 4 . Their structures were proved by IR, NMR spectroscopy and X-ray analysis, and compared to the results of MP2/6-311G(d,p) calculations.
