Abstract
Direct puncture of the internal jugular vein or the femoral vein is done as vascular access (VA) during the acute phase of blood purification therapy or when problems occur such as VA obstruction. Blood removal failure by direct puncture is often experienced clinically, and it is known to cause circuit coagulation and decrease dialysis efficiency. In this study, we examined whether there is a difference in the frequency of blood removal failure between the internal jugular vein and femoral vein.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
