Agronomic Characters and Yield of Fruit Sugarcane 2,a New Sugarcane Line

Fruit sugarcane 2, a new sugarcane line, was tested by using two cultivation ways of first planting and biennial root to study its agronomic characters and yield in 7 test sites. The results showed that the average germination rate, plant height, stem diameter, effective stalks/667m2, sugar content in field, weights per stalk and yield increased by 0.97%, 16.73 cm, 0.05 cm, 257.76 stalks, 1.83%, 0.19 kg and 17.04% and the tiller rate decreased by 23.75% compared with Qiantang 3 respectively, and the average germination rate, tiller rate, plant height, stem diameter, effective stalks/667m2, sugar content in field, weights per stalk and yield increased by 10.61%, 5.03%, 39.40 cm, 0.37 cm, 1 875.476 stalks,1.88%, 0.34 kg and 84.1% compared with Luohan sugarcane variety. Fruit sugarcane 2 has a good plant type with healthy plant, upright leaves and compact type, wide adaptability strong adverse and disease resistance, better commodity and palatability, higher sugar content and high-stable yield.
