A Study on the Main Character Variation and Correlation of Sugarcane Germplasm Resources in Jiangxi Province

96 sugarcane germplasms in Jiangxi Province were employed as the material,using the basic statistical analysis,the variation degrees and correlations of the morphological,agronomic and econmic characfers of the sugarcane germplasm resources in Jiangxi Province were studied.Major research results were showed as follows:(1) Basic statistical analyses showed that variation coefficients of main morphological,agronomical and yield traits were greatly different,the order of the coefficients was tillering rate,germination rate,plant height,sugar yield,sugarcane yield,weight per stem,effective stems,stem diameter,seedling height,birx,sugar content.Germplasm frequency distribution of the main traits in sugarcane was approximately normal distribution.Distributions of germination rate,birx,effective stems,sugarcane yield and sugar yield were typical normal distributions;distributions of tillering rate and weight per stem was left-deviated normal distribution;while distributions of seedling height,plant height,birx and sugar content was right-deviated normal distribution.(2) Correlation analyses indicated that the correlations of germination rate to tillering rate and tillering rate to seedling height were markedly and negatively significant;the correlation of germination rate to weight per stem was negatively significant.The correlations of germination rate to seedling height,weight per stems to sugarcane yield or sugar content,effective stems to sugarcane yield,sugarcane yield to sugar yield were markedly and positively significant;the correlation of germination rate to effective stems,tillering rate to sugarcane yield,seedling height to sugarcane yield or sugar yield,plant height to birx,sugar content to effective stems seedling height and,weight per stem to sugarcane yield or sugar yield,effective stems to sugarcane yield and sugarcane yield to sugar yield were positively significant.
