Abstract
[Objective] To study the influence of soybean isoflavone(SI) in fermented soy beans on blood glucose, blood fat, and the tissue of kidneys and liver of the alloxan-induced diabetic mice.[Methods] The soybean isoflavone was extracted from fermented soy beans by using ultra audible sound, then the alloxan-induced diabetic mice were given certain soybean isoflavone by intragastric administration for ten days, the glucose(GLU), total cholesterol(TC), triglyceride(TG) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) were measured. The pathological sections of livers and kidneys of the mice were observed.[Results] Compared with the Alloxan group, blood glucose dropped significantly in both M-SI and H-SI group(P ﹤0.05).The effect of decreasing blood glucose were proved to be more significant in M-SI group(reaching a decreasing rate of 18.996%) and H-SI group(28.447%) than that in L-SI group(P﹤0.05).H-SI group had a significant decreased TC and TG as well as an increased HDL-C(P﹤0.05) while the M-SI group can only lower the TG level. The livers and kidneys function showed better in the H-SI group than in the normal one.[Conclusion] Soybean isoflavone in fermented soy beans can decline the blood sugar level of alloxan-induced diabetic mice obviously. It can improve the hyperlipemia caused by the diabetes, and rehabilitate the liver and kidneys of the mice.
