Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of San Tang Capsule on blood glucose of diabetic model mice. Methods A diabetic mice model was successfully developed with normal Kunming mice by injecting alloxan(200 mg/kg BW) in abdominal cavity after 24-hour fasting.Diabetic mice were screened out by measuring the level of fasting blood glucose after 5 d.San Tang Capsule contents was orally administered continuously at the dose of 100,200,400 mg/kg BW respectively for 30 d.The body weight, the level of blood glucose and the capacity of glucose tolerance were detected before and after experiment. Results San Tang Capsule did not have effect on body mass of diabetic model mice and normal mice (P0.05);There was no difference in blood glucose between high dose of San Tang capsule group and normal mice group at the beginning and 30 days after experiment (P0.05); After 30d medication, the value of fasting blood glucose in each dose group was lower than the model group,in which high-dose group compared with the model group was statistically significant differences(P0.05);After the administration of 30 d-dose administration group at different time points of the glucose tolerance test glucose area under the curve of mice were lower than the model group,in which high-dose group compared with the model group were statistically significant differences (P0.05). Conclusion It is suggested that San Tang capsules could regulate blood glucose of diabetic model mice.
