Abstract

Using paraffin as raw material and boric anhydride as catalyst, high carbon alcohol was prepared by catalytic oxidation, washing, hydrolysis and extraction. The optimum reaction conditions were determined as follows: catalyst quantity 6% (based on the mass of paraffin, the same below), the oxidation time 4 h, the oxidation temperature 190℃, NaOH mass fraction 4%,the hydrolysis temperature 85℃, the hydrolysis time 3 h.FTIR analysis showed that the functional groups of the prepared products were consistent with the target products. The products synthesized under the optimum conditions were determined, The acid number was 0.34 and the yield was 20.12%, higher than other process conditions.
