Abstract
Using paraffin wax as raw material, oxidation product was obtained by catalytic oxidation with boron trioxide as catalyst. The higher alcohol was synthesized by saponification reaction with sodium hydroxide. The optimum technological conditions were determined, the optimum reaction conditions of paraffin oxidation: catalyst quantity was 4%( based on paraffin wax); oxidation time was 4. 5h; oxidation temperature was 175℃; the optimum reaction conditions of saponification: saponification temperature was 90℃; saponification time was 3. 5h; The mass fraction of NaOH was 5%. The infrared analysis shows that the molecular functional group of the preparation products matches with the designing target.Under the optimum conditions, the product yield was 14. 28%.
