Abstract

【Objective】The present study used the method of entropy TOPSIS to evaluate the agricultural science and technology innovation capability of Hubei Province in 2004-2011 so as to provide scientific references for relevant studies.【Method】Twenty-three indicators were selected to construct an index system for evaluating the agricultural science and technology innovation capability with respect to agricultural science and technology innovation potentiality, input capability and output capability. The indicators were weighted using the method of entropy. Based on the weighted indexes, method of TOPSIS was used to evaluate the agricultural science and technology innovation capability. 【Result】The overall level of agricultural science and technology innovation capability in Hubei Province did Not fluctuate much in 2004-2011 meaning agriculture development was stable. The key factors affecting agricultural science and technology innovation capability in Hubei Province were the primary industry investment in fixed assets, RD intramural expenditure and the number of domestic patents. 【Conclusion】Paying more attention to the establishment of agricultural science and technology innovation system, increase of investment in agricultural science and technology, and improvement of agricultural production capacity, main factors should be exerted actively and efficiently and general factors should be stimulated in order to enhance agricultural science and technology innovation capability in Hubei Province.
