Abstract
Objective To study the relation between ROS and left ventricular hypertrophy in the rats with renovascular hypertension. Methods Twenty male wistar rats, weighing about 200g each, were randomly divided into two groups(n=10):negative control group(SHAM),operation group(2K1C),at the 12th week to stop experiment.Systolic blood pressure(SBP)was measured, collagen volume fraction(CVF)was detected by Van Gieson, and SOD、GSH-PX、ROS were detected by ELISA.Results The results showed that the SBP、LVMI、CVF and ROS in 2K1C group significantly increased(P0.01).compared with the SHAM group, but the activities of GSH-Px and SOD were decreased(P0.01).Conclusion Increased expression of ROS in left ventricular myocardium of rets with renovascular hypertension indicate that ROS may play important roles in the development of ventricular hypertrophy of RVH rats.
