Abstract
Objective To explore the relationship between left ventricular hypertrophy(LVH) and protein kinase B(PKB) in rats with renovascular hypertension. Methods Twenty male SD rats were randomly divided into two groups:operation group and sham-operation group. There were 10 rats in each group. The two-kidney-one-clip(2K1C) operation was performed to establish the left ventricular hypertrophy model with renovascular hypertension in operation group.Sham-operation group underwent sham operation.Blood pressure of rats was measured once before operation and every 4 weeks after operation, respectively.Animals were killed 12 weeks after operation.Protein expression of PKB in myocardial tissues was detected by Western blot assay. Results Compared with sham-operation group, blood pressures in operation group at the 4th,8th,12th week after operation increased significantly(P0.05);Left ventricular mass index(LVMI),left ventricular wall thickness(LVWT),interventricular septal thickness(IVST) in operation group were significantly higher than those in sham-operation group(P0.05);Protein expression of PKB in operation group was significantly higher than that in sham-operation group(P0.05).Conclusion The PKB pathway might be one of signal transduction pathways which is related with LVH induced by renovascular hypertension.
