Abstract
Abstract The isolation of molecules antioxidant activity has become the subject of intensive research because of the growing demand for food and pharmaceutical industries to develop carcinogenic compounds anti-aging, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor and natural that provide measurable health benefits. The genus Sargassum , a kind of brown algae is a tropical and sub-tropical in subtidal and intertidal zones, comprising 150 species. In this study we used five species of brown algae, Sargassum are duplicatum , Sargassum aquifolium, Sargassum polycystum, echinocarfum , Sargassum and Cystoseira sp. In general, in this study the highest content of phenolic compounds is measured to the crude extract, then the aqueous phase (AQ), and lowest in the content of ethyl acetate phase (AE). More were observed phenolic compound, the radical scavenging activity and content of the alginate. The extraction is done using a solvent mixture ethanol: water with different proportions 50:50 to 75:25. The highest value of alginates was observed in Sargassum echinocrpum (24% DM) and Sargassum polycystum (17% DM), and finally Sargassum duplicatum (14% DM) has little alginates.
