International child health: The AAP task force

The AAP Task Force on International Child Health was formed in 1987 to find ways for U.S. pediatricians to work with their colleagues in developing countries in order to strengthen mutual efforts toward the health and survival of those children most at risk. As a response to the widespread interest expressed by AAP members in serving overseas, the Task Force has, as an initial endeavor, compiled a directory of organizations offering foreign service opportunities for pediatricians. This list soon will be printed in Pediatrics.
