Abstract
Requirement for future wireless communication system is large number of antennas on the single board for performing multiple functions. This imposes constraints on size, weight, volume etc especially for wireless handheld and space applications. Reconfigurable antennas present a latest improvement in antenna design that changes the conventional fixed-form antenna having predetermined functional parameters to adjustable structures that can be modified to fit the necessities of time varying system. This paper presents a review of various types, techniques and design approaches of reconfigurable antenna and antenna arrays.
