Abstract

Objective To investigate the relative factors which affect the treatment effect of endoscopic sinus surgery(ESS).Methods One hundred and fifty -seven cases of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps were treated with ESS.The treatment effect of 157 cases of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps treated with ESS were analyzed. Results Following up survey from 6 months to 24 months postoperatively, the results showed that cure rate was 81.3% for type Ⅰ ,72.9% for type Ⅱ and 52.9% for type Ⅲ, there was significant difference in cure rate among different types (P <0.05).Conclusion The treatment effect of ESS is related to following factors: skill of surgeons, type of chronic sinusitis, management of middle turdinate and under turdinate and the deviated septum, a suitable postoperative treatment. Key words: Nasosinusitis; Nasal polyps ; Endoscopic sinus surgery
