Endoscopic sinus surgery, clinical analysis with 620 cases

Abstract

[Objective] To study the curative effect of endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS). [Methods] The clinical data of ESS on 620 cases of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps were retrospectively analyzed, and all the cases followed up over 6 months. [Results] 464 cases (74.8%) were cured, 125 cases (20.2%) improved, 31 cases(5.0%) ineffective. The effective rate was 95.0%. [Conclusions] ESS is effective in the treatment of chronic sinusitis and nasal polyps. The careful preparations for the operation, the excellent surgical skills and a regular follow-up after operation are important ellements for the effective treatment.
