Effect of ozone combined with triamcinolone acetonide in treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis

Objective To compare the clinical effect of ozone and triamcinolone acetonide compound injection in the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis.Methods Eight hundred patients diagnosed as scapulohumeral periarthritis were randomly divided in two groups.Experimental group (n =400):trigger points or shoulder joints were injected with ozone and triamcinolone compound.Control group (n =400):trigger points or shoulder joints were injected with only triamcinolohe acetonide.The clinical effects were assessed according to the improvement of VAS and the function of shoulder joints after treatment.Results All of the patients were followed up 24 weeks.Compared with control group patients,the VAS of experimental group patients was decreased in 1,3,24 weeks (P ＜ O.05).Compared with control group,the shoulders' function of experimental group was improved in 24 weeks (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions The method of ozone and triamcinolohe acetonide compound injection into trigger points and shoulder joints is an effective and safe method for the treatment of scapulohumeral periarthritis.It not only reliefs the pain,and also improves the function of shoulders.
