Hemoperfusion combined with hemodialysis in the treament of cutaneous pruritus caused by urinaemia

[Objective]To investigate the effect of hemoperfusion(HP) combined with hemodialysis(HD) on cutaneous pruritus in patients with maintenance hemodialysis.[Methods]Twenty-fivemaintenance hemodialysis patients with cutaneous pruritus were choosed,and self-reflection method was used.Patients were treated by conventional dialysis method in the first two months and hemoperfusion combined with hemodialysis (HP+HD) twice every month in the latter two months,and finally the improvement of itching situation was obserued.[Results]The group with HP+PD treatment showed obvious better improvement of itching situation (P ＜0.01 ) than the group with HD.[Conclusions]HP + HD treatment has obvious curative effect on cutaneous pruritus in maintenance hemodialysis patients.
