Effect of valsartan combined with hydrochlorothiazide on circadian blood pressure rhythm, serum omentin-1 and oxidative stress in patients with renal hypertension

Abstract

Objective To investigate the effect of valsartan combined with hydrochlorothiazide on circadian blood pressure rhythm, serum omentin-1 and oxidative stress in patients with renal hypertension. Methods A total of 200 patients with renal hypertension admitted to Huaihe Hospital of Henan University from January 2017 to January 2019 were randomly selected and divided into two groups according to the treatment plan, with 100 patients in each group. The study group was treated with valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide, and the control group was treated with valsartan. The ambulatory blood pressure, serum omentin-1, and oxidative stress were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment, there was no significant difference in 24 h systolic blood pressure or diastolic blood pressure between the two groups (P>0.05). Daytime systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were higher in the study group than that in the control group (P 10% in the study group was higher than that in the control group (systolic blood pressure: 80.00% vs. 30.00%, diastolic blood pressure: 76.00% vs. 36.00%), P<0.05. After treatment, omentin-1 and superoxide dismutase levels in the two groups were higher than that before treatment (P<0.05), malondialdehyde levels were lower than that before treatment in both groups (P<0.05); and the magnitude of change in the study group was better than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusions Application of valsartan combined with hydrochlorothiazide can effectively control blood pressure, improve omentin-1 and oxidative stress in patients with renal hypertension.
