Abstract
Objective To investigate the etiology, clinical and radiological features, prognosis of perimesencephalic nonaneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (PNSH).Methods Retrospective analysis of the clinical presentation, radiological materials, treatment and prognosis of 37 PNSH cases were performed and the literatures of PNSH were reviewed. Results All patients were conscious.Their Hunt - Hess scales were Grade Ⅰ or Ⅱ.All patients were fully recovered when they discharged. The follow - up period was ranged from 1 to 46 months ( mean 24 months ).There was no rebleeding, cerebrovascular vasospasm or hydrocephalus. Conclusions Patients with PNSH have an evenful clinical condition, unique radiological features, short - term convalescence, less complication and excellent prognosis.Right diagnosis of PNSH could reduce the in -hospital time, repetition of DSA and unnecessary surgical exploration. Key words: Perimesencephalic cistern; Subarachnoid hemorrhage; Nonaneurysmal hemorrhage; Digital subtraction angiography
