Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of Bisoprolol on cardiac function and BNP concentration in patients with chronic heart failure(CHF). Methods One hundred and six patients with different causes of CHF were randomly divided into two groups, the control group (50 cases) received rest, salt restriction, angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitors, diuretics and digitalis and other conventional treatment, the treatment group(56 cases) received oral bisoprolol based on conventional treatment of the control group, the two groups were treated for 6 months. Cardiac function, LVESV, LVEF and BNP in the two groups were detected before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the total effective rate in the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P <0. 05 ). The LVESV, BNP in the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group ( P <0.05 or P < 0. 01 ). LVEF in the treatment group was significantly higher than that of the control group ( P < 0. 05 ). Few and mild adverse reactions were observed in the treatment group. Conclusions Bisoprolol significantly improve heart function in patients with chronic heart failure, reduced BNP levels, the security is good. Key words: Chronic heart failure; Bisoprolol; Brain natriuretic peptide
