Abstract
Objective To compare the clinical efficacy of acupuncture, acupuncture combined with moxibustion and TDP lamp irradiation in the treatment of peripheral facial paralysis. Methods Voluntary acceptance of treatment of 68 cases of out-patients were randomly assigned to treatment and control groups,34 cases in each group, treatment group used combined therapy of acupuncture and moxibustion and TDP irradia tion.Control group was given simple acupuncture and acupoint therapy; acupuncture 30 min every time, one time per day,10 times for 1 course, with 2 consecutive treatments.Curative effects was evaluated at the end of the course according to the evaluation criteria. Results In treatment group, the cure rate was 55.9%,the total effective rate was 97.1%; while the control group had cure rate of 26.5%,total effective rate of 82.4%.There was statistical significant difference in treatment effect of two groups (P<0.05).Conclusions Combined therapy of acupuncture and moxibustion and TDP lamp irradiation in treatment of peripheral facial paralysis has more significant curative effect than using simply acupuncture therapy. Key words: Comprehensive therapy; Peripheral facial paralysis; Acupuncture
